New album now available

We are proud to announce that our new album Vogler à la chambre de Marie-Antoinette & Ino, eine Kantate is now available on digital streaming platforms or for purchase as a physical CD. The album was released by Leaf Music Distribution, and produced with support from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Senate, the Adriana Jacoba Fonds, and the Forschungszentrum „Hof | Musik | Stadt.“

The album profiles the Mannheim Kapellmeister Georg Joseph Vogler (1749–1814) and music he wrote during 1779–82. In these years, Vogler notably travelled to Paris and made an acquaintance with Marie Antoinette, the Queen of France. The piano quartet and concerto he wrote for performances in Versailles are included on our album, as wll as the dramatic cantata Ino written in Mannheim in 1779. These works are being presented for the first time on recording.
